A Personal Mission
Dr. Paraze’s journey into biomedical ASD management began not in a lecture hall, but at home. When his son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, he experienced firsthand the frustration of a system that offered management but not answers – medication to suppress behaviour, but no investigation into why.
That experience drove him to pursue advanced training in functional and biomedical medicine, and to build a practice where families affected by ASD can access a genuinely different approach – one that asks “why” and works systematically to address the biological factors that conventional medicine overlooks.
Today, his ASD programme serves families across KwaZulu-Natal and beyond, offering evidence-informed biomedical protocols that complement – and in many cases dramatically enhance – conventional therapeutic approaches.

Our Approach
Our programme addresses the biological underpinnings of ASD through a systematic, evidence-informed framework.
The gut-brain axis is central to ASD. We conduct comprehensive stool analysis, organic acid testing, and targeted gut restoration protocols to address dysbiosis, leaky gut, and pathogenic overgrowth that drive neurological symptoms.
Chronic neuroinflammation is a key driver of ASD symptoms. We use anti-inflammatory protocols, IV ozone therapy, HBOT, and targeted nutritional interventions to reduce brain inflammation and support neurological function.
Heavy metal toxicity – mercury, lead, aluminium – impairs neurological development. We use safe, evidence-based chelation protocols alongside SNP-guided detoxification support to reduce toxic burden.
Many children with ASD have genetic variants (SNPs) affecting methylation, detoxification, and neurotransmitter metabolism. We use SNP testing to personalise nutritional and lifestyle interventions at the genomic level.
Mitochondrial dysfunction is common in ASD and contributes to fatigue, cognitive difficulties, and metabolic issues. We use targeted mitochondrial support protocols including IV therapy, CoQ10, and carnitine.
